Artists in Residence at Croft Castle
Following the success of Strange Cargo’s symposium on the Future of Participation in the Visual Arts, Strange Cargo were approached by the new National Portfolio Organisation, Meadow Arts, to create a participatory artwork for beautiful Croft Castle, a National Trust property in Herefordforshire.
Strange Cargo will be artists in residence at the castle in April, where their interaction with local people, staff and visitors will lead to the creation of a series of artworks for the castle and grounds. The project will transcribe local people’s personal experiences of the place and make visible the lesser known history of this fascinating and significant, ancient site.
