Black Country Voyages: The Black Apotheca
Date uploaded: August 19, 2015
Black Country Voyages (2014–2017) is Ikon Gallery in Birmingham's young peoples art programme taking place on board a canal boat. This years lead artist Jacques Nimki has transformed the boat into The Black Apotheca, a floating laboratory of herbal liquids made from local plants. It showcases drawings, recipes and objects, all relating to the business of apothecaries. The Ikon Youth Programme (IYP) crew the boat, travelling to meet local people and organise events.
