30th June - 30th Sept 2012
Thu - Sun, 11am - 10pm
Bold Tendencies - the sculpture show dedicated to showcasing new work by international artists - is back! Held on the top floor of a disused multi-storey car park in Peckham, Bold Tendencies is celebrating its opening on the 30th June. Please come along from 7pm-10pm, all welcome.
This year, Bold Tendencies has commissioned six major large-scale new works by: Laura Buckley (b. 1977 in Galway, Ireland), Sarah Cain (b. 1979 in Albany, NY, USA), Carter Mull (b. 1977 in Atlanta, GA, USA), Peles Empire (a collaborative work by Katharina Stoever (born in Germany in 1982) and Barbara Wolff (born in Romania in 1980), Mary Redmond (b. 1973 in Glasgow, UK) & Martin Westwood (b. 1969 in Sheffield, UK).
The accompanying Architecture Programme commissioned by Bold Tendencies, designed by Practice Architecture and built by Practice Construction sees the return of the Auditorium, built of straw and sited between the concrete slabs of level 7 & 8, housing a varied events programme, and Frank's Cafe and Campari Bar on Level 10. New for this year, a timber Foyer at the entrance to the project on Level 7 welcomes each visitor to the space.
Bold Tendencies needs you...
Bold Tendencies is a Community Interest Company dedicated to engaging a wide variety of local and international audiences; as such admission to the exhibition and all events is FREE. They rely on the generosity of sponsors and patrons to ensure the continued success of the project. They are still fundraising for 2012 and any donations large or small will make a huge difference. Please give what you can via their website.
Don't forget to make the most of every visit to Bold Tendencies with a tour of the sculpture, a cocktail at sunset and a unique performance experience in the Auditorium. They look forward to seeing you on the roof in Peckham this summer!
