Boulogne sur Mer Public Art Trail
Strange Cargo has been invited to France by Boulogne Town Council to create a public art trail this summer. This commission is being created to compliment the first Centre Pompidou mobile exhibition, bringing a selection from its fantastic collection direct to the people in the regions. Works by Léger, Matisse, Picasso and Braque will be on display over three months.
Strange Cargo is working with UK street artists Loch Ness, Squirl, ennui and SPzero76 who will draw on Boulogne's rich history to design a series of sea creatures for locations across the town centre. The trail will encourage visitors to explore the old town from the harbour to the Museum. The works will be accompanied by two gallery based exhibitions of the artists work in Folkestone and Boulogne.
