Pavilion and University of Leeds present an event with Griselda Pollock and artist Grace Schwindt that will introduce some of the themes associated with the 14th Istanbul Biennial, which runs from September–November 2015. This event will take place at The Tetley, Leeds on the 25th of April from 2–5pm.

Griselda Pollock (University of Leeds) is part of a small group of alliances (artists, curators and thinkers) assisting Carolyn Christov Bakargiev who is "drafting" the 14th Istanbul Biennial. As part of the event Griselda will introduce the Biennial's curatorial premise, Saltwater: A Theory of Thought Forms and will discuss the work of two artists who will be part of the Biennial.

Grace Schwindt will present her practice and her current work-in-progress, An Opera for a Camera, which explores the social, economic and environmental implications of maritime industry. The  new work will be produced at Sumburgh Head Lighthouse, Shetland with the support of Pavilion and will be presented as part of the 14th Istanbul Biennial.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance click here to book or RSVP [email protected]

The event is supported by Creative and Cultural Industries Exchange, University of Leeds.
