My Neck of the Woods
Date uploaded: September 18, 2013
Take part online in My Neck of the Woods on 21st and 22nd September
Have you ever wandered into a strange part of the city? My Neck Of The Woods is a glimpse into real life stories from the streets of Manchester.
Six young people from The Truth about Youth programme by the Royal Exchange Theatre walk through their neighbourhoods in Manchester, filming themselves as they go with a cutting edge live-streaming video kit.
Online you choose who to walk with. Drop into a café, a kitchen or the local pond and listen in. And if you get curious, join in the conversation. No two conversations are the same. What they say depends on what you ask, what you ask depends on what they might propose.
Each young person has their own approach, their own interests, their own unique set of questions and places to explore with you. You can come and go as you please, dipping in and out for as long as you choose.
This is part documentary, part performance, part live-stream video experience online. It is a conversation, a derive, a meander into parts of Manchester you may never have gone to before and into places in people’s lives you’ve never met before.
