The South West Journey: Weymouth
Be the first to see Nowhereisland and welcome the new nation to Weymouth, site of the London 2012 Olympic sailing events. It will be moored in Bowleaze Cove with its Embassy parked on Furzy Cliff from Wednesday 25 July to Thursday 2 August. The visiting island nation will be present for the opening of the Olympic sailing events and the Cultural Olympiad programme in Weymouth, prior to its epic journey around the south west coast over six weeks.
Wednesday 25th July: Welcome the Nation
Everyone is invited to welcome Nowehereisland as it arrives into Weymouth. The welcome begins with free workshops at nearby community halls at 11am, followed by a citizen march to Furzy Cliff to watch the island arrive from 1pm.

Nowhereisland will stay in Weymouth until Thursday 2 August with The Embassy open 12-5pm daily. Meet The Ambassadors, become a citizen, explore the curious mobile museum and hear the stories of Nowhereisland.

Directions to Furzy Cliff: From Weymouth town centre, Furzy Cliff is about 2miles. It is a pleasant walk or short drive along the seafront which becomes the B3155. As the B3155/Preston Road heads inland take the turning to the right, Bowleaze Coveway, signposted Bowleaze Cove.
From villages and towns to the East come along the A353 through Preston. At the roundabout in Preston take the first exit, B3155 towards Overcombe. Just before the road reaches the sea, turn right onto Bowleaze Coveway, signposted Bowleaze Cove.
The Embassy will be parked on the right-hand side near The Lookout Cafe.
