‘Minefield’ is a large sculptural installation of five aluminium, brass and steel ‘mines’ which were made following a residency the artist undertook at NASA Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. The works began as hypothetical drawings and animations, then moved to a series of films shot in zero gravity, and then into a series of sculptural objects that became known as Weapons of Mass Consumption. There will be a talk by the artist at 4.30pm. Aideen will discuss her extensive and multi versatile practice, which spans a range of art forms and approaches, including sculpture, performance, drawing and animation.
