Independent State - Matt Stokes talks about the Reveal Roadshow

June 16, 7pm - 9.30pm at the Masonic Hall, North Parade, Frome.

This summer sees Foreground stage another innovative visual art project in Frome. Independent State will once again bring the distinctive history and cultural landscape of the town to the
forefront through the work of renowned artists and explore the idea of what makes us distinctive as individuals and communities.

This time however, Foreground are inviting Frome's community members to be directly involved in the making of the artworks themselves.  Three internationally renowned artists, Edwina Ashton, Bob & Roberta Smith and Matt Stokes will work with groups from Frome's community over the summer to make major new works that will form entries into Frome Carnival on 26th September.

Matt Stokes won Beck's Futures in 2006 and was more recently named The Artist to Watch in 2009 by the Observer.

Matt Stokes talks about his work at the Reveal Roadshow on June 16, 7pm - 9.30pm at the Masonic Hall, North Parade, Frome.

This event is free and we hope you will be able to join us for the first opportunity to meet one of the artists involved in Independent State.
