22nd July; 25th, 26th or 27th July; and 20th September 2011

Professional development sessions, Art Connections, Yorkshire

Art Connections are running a new programme of tailored advice sessions. These sessions offer mid-career artists the opportunity to develop their practice and presentation skills by presenting their work to a specialist panel. The aim is to provide a supportive environment for both the presentation of the work and the subsequent feedback/discussion.

The focus will be on the presentation and targeting of work, possible contacts and marketing opportunities. The panel usually includes a curator/selector/commissioner and a specialist member of the Art Connections team.

Each session will last 40 mins and will be running throughout the day. If there is a particular time that you would prefer please mention this when booking.

Art Connections is a project, initiated and managed by Chrysalis Arts, to develop and support creative businesses in the visual arts, crafts and public arts sector/s across North Yorkshire. Part of the project’s remit is to provide tailor made training for professional artists and makers based in the county.

Session for makers: 22 July at the Mercer Gallery, Harrogate.
Session for painters and printmakers: 25, 26 or 27 July (TBC) at Pickering Library.
Portfolio session for early career artists: 20 September at The Art Depot Gargrave.

Fee: £10.
