The government’s support for the provision of private and social housing combined with its inclusion of public art, cultural well-being and good design within national planning policies and guidance is triggering opportunities and funding for artists to work with housing developers, housing associations, local councils, communities, designers and others. This event will explore the role of public art within the context of housing policies and developments.
Moderator:
- Sean Griffiths, Principal Architect at Modern Architect and Co-founder of Fashion Architecture Taste (FAT).
Speakers include:
- Clare Devine, Director of Architecture and Built Environment, Cabe at the Design Council;
- Andrew Whitaker, Planning Director, Home Builders Federation (HBF);
- Mark Davy, Founder, Future City;
- Ju Row Farr, Artist, Blast Theory;
- Louise Wyman, Midlands Large Sites Lead, Homes and Communities Agency (HCA);
- Paul Kelly, Senior Arts Development Manager, Lancashire County Council;
- Jeanne van Heeswijk, Artist.
Aimed at anyone with an interest or involvement in public art and housing, the event is free but unfortunately is now sold out.
