The ABC of BSF Arts, Buildings, & Culture of Building Schools for the Future

13 November 2009, 10:00am – 4:00pm

A tour and conference around arts and cultural activity, engagement, and
design quality in the built environment.

The ABC of BSF is a tour day based in the West Midlands looking at arts and cultural activity, engagement and quality design in the built environment.

The tour will cover:

  • Thinktank Events Suite, Millennium Point, Birmingham
  • The Public, West Bromwich
  • St. Lukes Primary, Wolverhampton

The impact of arts and culture in relation to the transformation of education is key to the engagement of young people in education, developing the skills required by 21st Century learners, and showcasing the variety of opportunities available in the creative and cultural sectors.

The ABC of BSF aims to highlight how local authorities can use arts and culture in the transformation of education, strategic approaches to culture, and the value of arts and culture in engagement and in achieving high quality design in the built environment.

The day will start at Millenium Point in Birmingham, (registration from 9:30am) and all transport via coach to venues is included, returning to Birmingham New Street Station, and Millennium Point at 4:30pm.

The ABC of BSF aims to provide inspiration and provoke discussion around how arts and culture can impact BSF – and is planned to be an informal and open base for discussion with key speakers from relevant and innovative organisations.
