Winter Lights Festival at Canary Wharf

Throughout January, Canary Wharf hosts its Winter Lights Festival with sculptures, lasers, projections and digital art from a diaspora of International light artists such as UK artist Stephen Newby, Cédric Le Borgne from France, German design duo Heidi and Bernd Spiecker and Hungarian born artist Bálint Bolygó. From Friday the 9th to Sunday the 11th of January 2015, visitors are invited to explore a weekend of family-friendly interactive activities and experiences created to brighten up their winter.

  • LIGHTWEIGHT, Reuters Plaza, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - See your face light up in live animations drifting around a 4m high large globe!
  • CODEX, Cabot Square, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - A light installation that tells a tale! Interact with this animated talking story book that tells over 1,000 different tales.
  • HACKSPACE CUBED, West Wintergarden, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - This illuminated cube reacts to movements so get up close and personal and create your own colourful patterns.
  • LOPLITE, Cabot Square, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - Use a flashlight, stick or a laser as a paintbrush and marvel at your light creations.
  • CHILDREN’S KRAZY KALEIDOSCOPES WORKSHOP, Canada Place, Sat & Sun 12-6pm - Children are invited to assemble a funky Kaleidoscope using a fabulous selection of paints, stickers, gems and jewels. Once completed children can hold up to the light to see a huge spectrum of bright twinkling colours.
  • CHILDREN’S FACE PAINTING*, Cabot Place, Canada Place and Jubilee Place, Sat & Sun, 12-6pm - Children can have their faces painted in a variety of bright and colourful designs in Cabot Place, Canada Place and Jubilee Place.
  • TROIS ROBES by TAE GON KIM, Jubilee Park, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - Hidden within Jubilee Park, three illuminated dresses pop up changing colour as you walk by.
  • WATER LIGHT GRAFFITI BY ANTONIN FORNEAU, West Wintergarden, Fri-Sun, 4-8pm - Spray this interactive digital wall with water and be amazed by what appears.
  • GLOW PERFORMERS, Throughout Canary Wharf, Sat & Sun, 3-7pm (performance times vary)
