Stoke-on-Trent City Centre: Lidice Public Art Design Brief 2012 - 2013
Stoke-on-Trent are looking to secure the creation of a high quality and innovative Public Art work that will incorporate and clad an electrical sub-station in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent’s city centre. The public artwork is part of a broader programme of significant regeneration that is currently transforming the city centre public realm. To achieve this, the City Council is seeking to appoint an artist of the highest calibre. The artist will be responsible for the facilitation of consultation workshops, design, fabrication and installation of an integrated Public Art work.
The art work will reference Stoke-on-Trent’s unique relationship with the village of Lidice in the Czech Republic and the legacy created by Sir Barnett Stross and the citizens of Stoke-on-Trent between 1942 and the present day.
Total Budget: £100,000 (Please note the budget includes all expenses, artist’s fees, materials and installation costs)
Deadline date for submissions: 5pm on Monday 5th November 2012
