PASW Regional Newsletter: Autumn 2006
Future Regional Network Meeting
Public Art South West’s next Regional Network meeting will take place in Swindon at STEAM on 9th November. The focus of the meeting is highway design; issues around quality, innovation and liability; addressing the perception that highway engineers stifle creativity! The title for the event is ‘Highway Engineering – a cul de sac for creativity?’
Speakers include Stephen Hardy, Principal Transport Planner, Dorset County Council and Ben Hamilton Baillie of Hamilton-Baillie Associates talking from the highway engineer’s perspective about the role artists play and issues of adoption and liability.
Artist, Richard Layzell will talk about his working experience, interest and knowledge of working
creatively within the context of highways and with highway engineers.
