Lottery Update - South West Arts
South West Arts and the Lottery
To provide further guidance for applicants to the Regional Arts Lottery Programme we have appointed a full time Information Advisor. This new post is based within South West Arts and is there to provide advice over the telephone and, if necessary, comment on draft applications from organisations who are not regularly funded by South West Arts. Those organisations that are regularly funded should liaise with their 'lead officer' over advice for the Lottery.
We are also giving more information to local authority arts officers in their role as 'first point of contact' for many applicants. This will include details on who is applying and where, along with updates on the level of funds available. In the New Year we shall be publishing revised guidelines on our priorities for the Programme.
The new Arts Capital Programme has been announced by the Arts Council of England. It provides funds for large capital projects requiring over £100,000 from the Lottery. The deadline for initial applications is 22 January 2001. The application packs are only available from the Arts Council, not South West Arts, although we will be involved in the assessment process.
