On November the 23rd 24th and 25th the Divers[c]ities Symposium took place at Exeter School of Arts and Design. This was initiated by the Arts and Urban Futures Research Unit of which Window Sills is now a part and the Public Art Observatory co-ordinated at the University of Barcelona. The Symposium included Key Note speakers Tim Collins, Nine Mile Run project, USA; Judy Ling Wong, Black Environmental Network, UK; and Malcolm Miles, Arts and Urban Futures Research Unit, Exeter School of Arts and Design. The presentations, papers and workshops considered strategies for art in sustainable urban regeneration, focusing on inclusivity and the non-metropolitan city. Papers from the Symposium will be published on the Window Sills web site (www.adr.plym.ac.uk/windowsills) in the new year. The Symposium will also see the launch of our new book with the Arts and Urban Futures Research Unit, Advances in Art and Urban Futures Vol. 1: Locality, Regeneration and Divers[c]ities.
