Blandford
Blandford Forum Enhancement (2000):
The work of local poets as well as famous quotes and sayings carved into paving stones laid during the re-paving of the town centre.

Bournemouth
Bournemouth Alight (1997-2003):
A commissioning programme, by Bournemouth Borough Council's Arts and Museum Division, to illuminate landmark buildings and sites in Bournemouth by artists. Four pieces, accompanied by two community events, were commissionedfrom 1997-2003: Blueshift by Anna Heinrich and Leon Palmer (1997-8), Paul, George & Ringo by Ron Haselden (1998-99), Spectra by Peter Freeman at Lower Gardens (1999-2000) and Seducer (temporary) by Muf at Boscombe Pier (2001-2).Spectra was restored and re-lit in 2007 after a period of darkness.

Transformations (1999):
Artist, Adam Reynolds, facilitated the design and production of a public artwork by Boscombe Children's Centre's clients alongside his own Glasshouses. These Glasshouses, each containing a single round object, are identically shaped, increase in size and are laid out as a spiral across the grounds. This work was commissioned by Bournemouth Borough Council's Social Services and Arts Development, as part of a Lottery-funded Transformations project, which brought together 4 day centres working with disabled and non-disabled artists. These included Adam Reynolds, Tony Heaton, Anjali Dance and Age Exchange.

Mosaic for new Café (2003) :
As part of Bournemouth Borough Council's arts development programme at Sure Start Bournemouth, artist, Trudi Lloyd Williams, worked with women who photographed their children and transformed the images into mosaics.

Please Re-Use This Bag! (2005):
This project, funded by Bournemouth Borough Council's Waste Minimisation and Recycling included (a) two wall hangings, entirely of patchwork squares from plastic bags and containing small throw-away items, designed and sewn by children from King's Park School and adults from Bournemouth, (b) a large community patchwork quilt for which lead artist, Jeff Piggott, supported by artist, Shelley Wilson, in workshops in Boscombe and Bournemouth town centres, persuaded shoppers to use their plastic bags to contribute a colourful square and (c) a frieze, in the Nursery of Boscombe Children's Centre.

Signature (2006):
Trudi Lloyd Williams, supported by Rose Perry, was commissioned by Bournemouth Borough Council Arts Development and Overton Development Ltd, to develop a mural (3.5metres square) on the west facing elevation of the retail development between Commercial and Terrace Roads.

Boscombe Library Public Art Project (2006-7):
The project was developed through Bournemouth Borough Council’s Arts Development programme, within the framework of the Joint Arts Plan and the Bournemouth Public Art Development Plan.
The aim was to commission a piece of high quality and innovative public art for the new Boscombe Library, which had relevance to the local community, reflected ideas about the function of the library and promoted the library as an interactive cultural experience.
The project involved 3 artists, Jeff Pigott, Peter Dunn and Melanie Bennett, working with local people,.

Chickerell

Peto Memorial Garden (2005):
Chickerell Town Council commissioned sculptor Karen Hanson of Evershot, working with six students from Budmouth Technology College, Chickerell, to produce a piece of public art entitled Dialogue, as part of a land enhancement scheme.

Dorchester
Dorchester (1985/86):
Bronze sculpture, the Dorset Martyrs, by Dame Elisabeth Frink, on the site of public hangings at the corner of South Walks and Icen Way. Commissioned and purchased by private donations.

Dorchester Library Window (2001):
Year of the Artist commission by Martin Donlin, who incorporated text, identified during community-based writing workshops, into a large glass design.

Dorchester Contemporary Romanesque Water Feature (2003):
Steel and cement water feature, by Peter Osborne, consisting of a circular terraced water pool with 4 columns, topped by a rotunda roof chamber. Inspired by a recent archaeological survey of the Roman water supply to the area.

Dorset County Hospital, Damers Road, Dorchester (1998):
Arts in Hospital received a major Lottery award to commission work by nineteen contemporary artists for the public spaces in the new hospital wings. The project, Bringing the Outside In, includes photograms by Susan Derges, stained glass by Martin Donlin and three sculpture courtyards by Richard Harris.

Room with a View, Dorchester County Hospital (2006):
A developing project for the Leukaemia rooms at the hospital involving a live camera link with a high quality image on a flat screen. Links have been set up between the hospital and the lake and gardens at Kingston Maurward House and further links will be established between the hospital and Charmouth Beach with a view of Golden Cap and the sea and Brownsea Island for bird watchers and nature enthusiast. The project is researching the benefits, with bio-chemical and psychological measures, of how we experience landscapes.

Poole
Lighthouse (2002):
Various artists created parts of the building - glass-maker, Danny Lane, created a glass and steel bar, textile artist, Janet Stoyel, made a curved wall hanging and Sally Freshwater created an awning. Jane McDonald'sglass and steel screen sits at the boundary between the café and foyer areas of the Art Centre’s ground floor, while Peter Freeman’s installation works with the architecture of the front façade, shifting through a range of colours every few minutes.

Poole Quay (2003):
The new sea defence wall at Poole Quay includes Parallel Plotter by Simon Watkinson, commissioned by the Environment Agency with support from Borough of Poole Arts Development and Planning Units.

Study Gallery (2000):

Portland
Portland Sculpture Park (1983 onwards):
Tout Quarry, Portland. Work by national and international sculptors sited in a disused quarry, the entrance to which is opposite the Portland Heights Hotel. Artists include: Works include Still Falling by Antony Gormley, Be Stone No More by Pierre Vivant, Woman on Rock by Dhruva Mistry, Arena of Fools by Kerry Trengrove, Baroque Garden by Shelagh Wakely, Zen Garden by Phillip King & RCA students and Among the Stars that Hide and Seek by Alain Ayers.

Purbeck
Faith House, Holton Lee (2002):
Faith House is a meeting place for the arts, disability, the environment and personal growth. Artist Diego Ferrari collaborated with architect Tony Fretton on the design of this unique space drawing on the land surrounding the site and the contemplative aspects of nature. The building won 'Best British Builidng of the Year' awarded by the Guardian Newspaper in 2003.

South Haven Point, Poole Harbour (2006):
The South West Coast Path is one of the longest of the 13 approved National Trails in England and Wales. It extends 630 miles from Minehead, Somerset, through Exmoor National Park, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset, ending at South Haven Point, Poole. Celebratory markers have been installed at both ends of the Coast Path, and plans are currently being developed for one at the midway point. The Minehead marker (installed in 2001) was designed by Sarah Ward and realised by Owen Cunningham as part of Gordon Young's arts consultancy with the Minehead Seafront Enhancement Scheme. The marker at South Haven Point by David Mayne was installed in summer 2002 following a collaborative design process that sought to engage both local people and visitors.

Sturminster Newton
Stour View Centre (1996):
Work includes Ray Smith's ceramic tile mural of the Old Mill at Sturminster Newton for the wall of the hydrotherapy pool, Chris Tipping's courtyard paving, Lynne Gant's mosaic panels for a day room and Jane McDonald's etched and stained glass for the sports hall.

Weymouth
Ridgeway Social and Education Centre (1997/1998):
Project artist Jane Spray, produced carved brick seating and a brick and ceramic water feature in one of the courtyards, together with ceramic fossil shells and planting plans. In the second courtyard, she created seating from old granite kerbstones and a ceramic entrance plaque. Paul Norris provided a stone sculpture and Sasha Ward has made some stained glass panels for the doors of a display case in the entrance foyer.
