The Commissioning Plan
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council have released their public art strategy to coincide with their status as hosts for the London 2012 Olympic Sailing events.
The Commissioning Plan is a public art strategy that aims to deliver a lasting legacy for the area. In the run up to the Sailing events in 2012, several major infrastructure projects are being implemented.
The Commissioning Plan sets out the opportunities where artists can make a valuable contribution by being on design teams and integrating public art into new build schemes. The Commissioning Plan also looks at opportunities for temporary public art projects which may become part of the Cultural Olympiad programme of events.
