Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust
The Sculpture trail in the Forest of Dean was opened in 1986 and is now in need of urgent refurbishment and development. In particular the Trustees want to improve access, both on the ground and through the internet, widen the educational opportunities and introduce new works. The overall aim is to bring back some of the magic of the early years which has been lost to the wear and tear and consequent management which over 100,000 visits a year has brought.
To effect these changes Trustees have appointed Samantha Wilkinson, a visual art consultant, to the part time post of art consultant/fundraiser. It is expected that this post will become permanent as funds come in and fresh residencies and other opportunities are advertised.
